Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I schedule a cleaning?

It’s generally recommended to have a dental cleaning every six months, but your hygienist may suggest a different hygiene interval based on your individual needs.  Some individuals who have gum disease or periodontal disease will likely benefit from coming for more frequent cleanings.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept most major dental insurance plans. Please contact our office for specific details regarding your plan.

What should I expect during my first visit?

During your first visit, we will conduct a thorough examination, discuss your dental history, and create a personalized care plan tailored to your needs. --- Feel free to let me know if you need any adjustments or additional questions!

How much will my cleaning cost?

All dental hygiene services are billed according to the ODHA fee guide.  A dental cleaning, or 'scaling' is billed per unit of time.  It all comes down to how long your cleaning will take.  Someone who has not had a cleaning done in years will certainly take longer than someone who has not had a cleaning in 6 months.  An estimate for your appointment can be provided.

Should I still see my dentist?

Definitely!  I highly recommend that my clients see their dentist for a routine exam on a yearly basis.  As of right now, dental hygienists cannot prescribe x-rays.  X-rays are important to diagnose cavities, determine bone levels, see any debris stuck under the gums, etc.  Dental Hygienists cannot diagnose cavities.  For this reason, it is still important to see your dentist for routine check-ups.

What happens if I need to cancel with short notice?

Life happens!  This can be understandable.  I will allow one short notice cancellation, but after one has been pardoned, a short notice cancel or a 'no-show' will be subject to a cancellation fee.  When someone cancels last minute or does not show up for their scheduled appointment, this takes away from someone else that I could have offered your appointment time to.  We need to be respectful of everyone's time.  I appreciate your understanding.  Please see 'Cancellation Policy' for further details.
